based on pictures and texts which appeared in China Pictorial between
June 1973 and May 1974, with some editorial changes.) Text is in
English.
Huayuankou, a town to the north of
Chengchow. Here in 1938, Kuomintang troops blew up the Yellow River
dyke on orders from Chiang Kai-shek, causing serious flooding. Now
it takes on a completely new look.
