Dusan Dzamonja’s sculpture “Expo 67”, which received very favourable notice at the World Fair in Montreal, illustrates some of the new tendencies in Yugoslav sculpture.

Czechoslovak Spartakiades (4)

Czechoslovak Spartakiades by Julius Chvalny.  Hardcover book published by Orbis Press Agency, Prague.  Text is in Russian, English, German, French and Spanish.

In the composition for parents and children 4,000 pairs took part in the Strahov stadium in Prague, while 23,821 pairs performed in county Spartikiades

 
The composition for the youngest boys and girls (5-7 years) brought a total of 66,753 participants to the county Spartikiades, and 4,000 to the one in Prague

Younger pupils showed off in an untraditional exercise with flying saucers and skipping ropes.  In the county Spartikiades 55,798 pupils took part, while 6,912 performed in Prague



Younger girl pupils (from 8-11 years) numbered 67,125 in the county Spartikiades and 13,824 performed in the Prague finale

The charm of the composition performed by younger girls was shown especially in the colourful dancing figures

In the exercises the girls were divided into groups of gymnasts and dancers; there were 42,859 participants in the county Spartikiades and 6,912 in Prague

In Kosutnjak, part of the green belt that encloses Belgrade’s southern suburbs, a large sports centre has been built to cater for the needs of young and old alike.  In addition to its sports faciltities, Kosutmjak offers a temporary escape from polluted city air amidst woods and meadows.

Dinghy sailing is gaining popularity along the Adriatic coast.  In the picture: sailing in Boka Kotorska Bay near Tivat, a picturesque little town, where the medieval Kotor nobility used to spend the summer months. etc.

The Adriatic is famous for it pellucid blue water.  The average temperature of the water in summer ranges from 22 degrees to 24 degrees.
