OSTRAVA

PLZEN. This ancient town was built in 1290.  Today it is famous throughout the world for its breweries whose trademark stands for the best beer in the world.

Slovakia is changing visibly to a modern industrial country. On June 1st, 1956 the tunnel and generator furnaces of the magnesite works at LUBENIK were started.

THE NORTH BOHEMIAN BROWN COAL BASIN is one of the richest in the world. In the production of brown coal Czechoslovakia is approaching an annual output of 55 million tons.
