Yugoslavia: Past and Present (5)

Yugoslavia: Past and Present, edited by Radmila Matic.  Hardcover book published by Yugoslav Review, Belgrade and David Harvey, London (no date, probably late 1960s or early 1970s). Text is in English.

Split Airport has services to or connecting with all the major cities of Europe.  Itself a big tourist centre, Split also has regular boat services to the islands of the Adriatic.

Since the war, the network of airports has been steadily expanded.  Today, Yugoslavia has 12 for civil aviation, some of these among the most up-to-date in the world.  In the picture: the runway at Belgrade Airport can take the biggest planes currently in operation.
